VIDEO: Thousands in rubbish crisis protests

Thousands of people have taken part in angry anti-government demonstrations in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.

Police fired tear gas and water cannon to try to disperse protesters calling for the government to resign, over the city’s rubbish collection crisis, and its economic problems.

Jim Muir reports from Beirut.
